Frequently Asked
Questions
|
|
Q. |
Do we have to buy
all four SeaMedic modules at the same time? |
A. |
No.
The whole idea of SeaMedic is that you can build up the kit as time goes
on and your sailing becomes more adventurous.
|
Q. |
If we are
planning an Atlantic crossing, do we have to buy all four modules? |
A. |
No.
We would recommend having modules one and two as a minimum.
Modules three and four are intended for those who intend to embark on
extended ocean cruising. Module three is primarily equipment and
module four medicines including some that may not be readily available
at a port of call. |
Q. |
Are the SeaMedic
boxes waterproof? |
A. |
No.
The boxes are shock proof, but in our opinion most vessels would not
benefit from having a waterproof medical kit. Most boats have
adequate dry areas and if required outside the contents will get wet as
soon as the box is opened. As an optional extra we can supply
waterproof cases for specific applications (price on application).

Q. |
Does SeaMedic
conform to MCA regulations? |
A. |
SeaMedic
can be made to conform to MCA regulations for commercial or charter
vessels relatively easily, however the additional components required
will not generally benefit the average yachtsman. We have chosen
to include modern practical components of true benefit to the offshore
yachtsmen, rather than simply following a standard specification.
We believe that SeaMedic is better suited to its target application.
|
Q. |
Can we keep
SeaMedic up to date? |
A. |
Yes.
We can supply any of the individual components and advise you of modern
alternatives to include in your kit as time goes on. SeaMedic is
very versatile and can be easily adapted to include additional
components. SeaMedics are generally built to order to ensure the
very latest dates on all components. We also source most
components from major companies to ensure continuity.
